This Friday, October 10th we're inviting Dr. Gordon Hugenberger (Senior Pastor of Park Street Church, Harvard College '74) to tackle the topic of Jesus's views on politics from an Old Testament viewpoint. While many suspect that a strong faith is simply a formula for strife, extremism, judgmentalism, and cultural isolation, Dr. Hugenberger will address why he thinks a Christian understanding of politics & law should make faith more attractive, not less, especially to those who share the Bible's values upholding justice, civility, peace, mercy, freedom, globalism, and concern for the poor & disadvantaged. The talk will be both entertaining and thought-provoking followed by extended Q & A and a reception. Please invite your friends and join us on Friday at 7:30pm in Sever 113!

(from http://intervarsityne.org/harvard/advance08/ - Sign up there!)
God is moving across the Harvard campus. And we want to advance with him -- not retreat! We want to see our lives and our friends' lives transformed. We want to see our campus spiritually renewed. We want a ripple effect that goes far and wide. In short, we want to bring the whole gospel to the whole campus to impact the whole world.
You've been invited to Advance 2008 because you are committed to the missions of HRCF, HRAACF, or HRBCF. This will be a critical period to prepare for the upcoming year, to renew our vision for how God wants to transform Harvard, and to get ready to welcome the class of 2012.
Summer can be a very different and often challenging time spiritually. Spend some time reconnecting with God and with your spiritual family before diving back into the Harvard bubble.
Are you ready to advance the Kingdom of God at Harvard?
