Let us consider how we may spur one another toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another.

-- Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

Get Involved!

Information on this page may not be currently up to date and may change for the coming school year (2008-2009).

Come explore how faith in Jesus intersects with life at Harvard. At AACF, we believe that pursuing faith is uniquely beneficial when done in community of friends, and more fun as well! So come; we'd like to get to know people of all backgrounds. Feel free to shoot an e-mail to any of the contacts. They will be more than happy to answer any question, big or small, that you may have.

Groups Investigating God (GIG)

Come explore questions of God, faith, and spirituality in an open and safe environment with fellow truth seekers! Geared toward people on the front-end of questions of faith, GIG is an environment where every question is a good one. All ethnicities and beliefs are welcome!

Groups Investigating God offers a safe place, of any religious or non-religious persuasion, to discuss questions of God, faith, and spirituality. Meetings are tailored to the interests of the members. This year, the study is meeting once a week, on Sundays and Mondays. Scheduling is flexible for those who have conflicts with these times.

Large Group

Large group is our weekly time to gather as an entire community, to worship and learn about God together. Each week our praise band leads us in worship, and there is a speaker. There is also time to hear announcements and testimonies from our fellowship. All people are welcome.

Family Groups

FG's are AACF's small groups, and are at the heart of what our fellowship is about. These groups are the foremost place where relationships are built, and become a spiritual family in which students can connect with God through worship, prayer, and reading the Bible together. Many times, they serve as spiritual and relational anchors in the otherwise hectic lives of students. They usually meet once a week, and come in several flavors. This year, Frosh Family Groups are meeting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7-9 PM. Upperclass Family Groups meet at a variety of times on different days.

Mark Study

Dig more deeply into scripture and learn more about the life and ministry of Jesus. Join thousands of InterVarsity students in this rigorous, year-long study of the Gospel of Mark. Considered by many to be a 5th class, Mark Study requires a weekly commitment. Mark Study this year meets on Mon 6:30-8p or Thu 6:30-8p at 20 Banks St., 2nd Floor.

Prayer Ministry

God works when we ask him to! Join the AACF family as we invite God to do incredible things at Harvard and beyond this year. Experience the "peace of God, which transcends all understanding" (Phi 4:7) as we lift up our praises, thanks, confessions, and petitions. Meets on Thursdays, 7-9pm in 20 Banks St., 1st floor.

Praise Band (PBJ)

The Praise Band leads worship for large groups on Fridays, and performs regularly at other on-campus Christian venues such as coffeehouses. The praise band meets weekly outside of large group for small group fellowship and sharing, and rehearses early Friday afternoon in preparation for large group. From the 1999 vision statement:

"...Biblical precedence grounds our ministry to the fellowship; the Holy Spirit empowers it. As a team, we are committed to a common vision that is Christ-centered, seeking to reflect the glory of God. We seek to make our music and attitudes a holy sacrifice pleasing to God. We strive for oneness of mind and spirit through love, prayer, servant-hood, and accountability. As we lead and challenge others by our example, we encourage each other to pursue a lifestyle of integrity and Christ-likeness, in personal interactions extending beyond the context of worship. We recognize that God has given each of us individual gifts; we are therefore dedicated to developing these gifts in each other and integrating them into our ministry..."

Retreats

AACF goes on four retreats throughout the year: a pre-school Advance retreat, Fall retreat, Winter retreat, and post-school Summit. Retreats are a time for the fellowship to engage with God and with each other, outside of the stresses of life at Harvard. They include worship, talks, Bible studies, times of silence and reflection, community-building time, and the ever-important free time. Retreats are also good chances to become better-connected with the fellowship and to meet new people.
