For the Class of 2014
It's the quintessential college quest - to discover who you are. You're away from home. Freedom! It's a clean slate - nobody knows you.
or so you think
There is someone at Harvard who knows you, inside and out. In fact, He's known you since "He knit [you] together in [your] mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13). What's even more amazing is that you don't need to do anything to impress Him. He loves you for who you are, as you are. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to prove it.
It doesn't stop there. There are 80-some upperclassmen eager and excited to get to know you, too - to laugh, cry, encourage, grow with you, and share God's love.
When I think about AACF, what does that mean to me?
Asian American: Maybe it's something you've never thought about, or wondered a lot about - why did God make me Vietnamese? Korean? Indian? Japanese? Chinese? Filipino? After all, God could have chosen me to be of German or African descent, but God specifically chose to give me an Asian American Identity. And what does it mean to be Asian American and ...
Christian: More than I might think. First and foremost, I am a child of God - and second, being Asian American touches many aspects of my faith. For instance, being raised in an accomplishment-success oriented family influences my conception of God's love and grace. And being part of a shame-based culture colors my understanding of humility, security and forgiveness. I am learning the God is a God of all peoples and cultures, and that includes me, my friends in the ...
Christian Fellowship: God has raised up friends and partners to love me and walk with me through this journey. God has used people in this body of believers to love me, to study scripture with me, and to serve me in deep and fun ways. We are learning to be family to one Another everyday, though imperfect as we may be. I'm thankful for God's provision, to be loved by this Asian American Christian Fellowship.
Some of the activities on the main page are opportunities to get your journey going. It is our prayer for you, that in the process of defining "who you are," that you will discover the "Great I Am" - God, Our Father - during your time here at Harvard. Whether it be your first time ever, first time in a long time, or a continuing walk, God is here to welcome you with arms open wide.
All you have to do is come. Let's meet God together.
Class of 2014: Welcome to Harvard!
