Welcome to the website for the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian-American Christian Fellowship (AACF)! We are a fellowship that seeks to know God and make God known as a voice of faith, particularly among the Asian and Asian-American community at Harvard. Pursuing personal relationships with Jesus and sharing God’s love on campus, AACF is devoted to the teaching of the Bible, prayer, worship, outreach, and community. We invite people of any faith background to explore and hear the Gospel and are eager to welcome you to our community!
We have weekly classwide Bible studies and Friday night large group gatherings where you can learn alongside your class and the entire fellowship. Some of our special events include semesterly retreats and fun socials, such as midnight hiking, apple picking, and game night. If you want more information and want to join us at these events, please read our upcoming events section!Join us for upcoming events!
Our fellowship has been discerning what it means to be a spiritual community with God at our center these past few weeks. We have shifted to Zoom-based frosh studies, CGs, and large groups by the beautiful grace of God. While we have been able to slowly transition into community online, we are also learning that our work as His servants is not yet done.
In response to God's calling for us to serve each other with our resources, AACF is setting up a COVID-19 Benevolence Fund. This benevolence fund will provide financial aid for Harvard undergraduate students in AACF whose families are facing economic struggle due to circumstances such as unemployment, decreased pay, unexpected costs, among others. In times like these, God has been pressing upon our hearts a need to mobilize our fellowship and support our brothers and sisters through giving, if we are willing and able.
Please feel free to reach out to AACF’s staff member, Ellen Mak, at email@example.com with any questions or comments on either donating or applying for aid.
If you would like to donate to the fund, please Venmo @hraacf-treasurer with your name and “Benevolence Fund” in the description. If you would be comfortable making recurring monthly donations for the duration of the pandemic, please also include “recurring” in the description so AACF can Venmo request you each month (you can also reach out to us about discontinuing at any time).
Some of us may be thinking, "How much should we give? I don't think I can donate that much." As God's children, all throughout the Gospel, we are called to share the blessings that God has given us. Whether we donate out of our poverty or our wealth, God sees and recognizes our hearts to give (Luke 21:1-4). Christians give freely, joyfully, faithfully, and generously, not because we must, but because we love our Savior and want to strive to be more like Him.
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
2 Corinthians 9:7
"The service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God."
2 Corinthians 9:12
We have created this fund in hopes to relieve some financial pressure on your families so that you may be able to find some peace in these uncertain and confusing times. We understand that each of us has been impacted differently after being asked to leave Harvard’s campus, which only furthers this calling for us to support and serve each other by stewarding our resources wisely.
As we have learned in our CGs this year, God calls us to share our possessions and resources with others who may be in need. On the flip side of that, God also asks us to receive when we are provided for in His name. Please do not hesitate to apply for financial aid from the Benevolence Fund -- being a part of a spiritual community means knowing when to give but also when to receive. Jesus has promised us that what we will eat, what we will wear will be taken care of by Him. Through this Benevolence Fund, we are able to witness one of the ways that God continues to provide for us even in times of suffering and hardship.
You are loved, and through this, AACF hopes to be able to support you in more ways than one. If you would like to be considered to be a recipient of the COVID-19 Benevolence Fund, please fill out the form linked below by May 15th at 11:59PM PST for the first donation round.
“Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!”
